Two elementary school teachers from Senahú selected to participate in the activity.
With the collaboration and support of Teachers2Teachers Global, the Mathematics Conference was held from the 13th to the 17th of November, 2017 at the Familias de Esperanza Foundation in Antigua Guatemala. The conference was titled “Making Mathematics Experimental: Creating mathematical knowledge through experiences.”
For the second time, Fundación Trece Aguas provided teachers of educational establishments in the municipality of Senahú, Alta Verapaz with the opportunity to participate and be part of the newest generations of trained educators.
The topics presented at the conference were developed through demonstrations under the guidance of the facilitators. They included real and contextualized examples used to facilitate the learning and successful adoption of the new techniques.
Fundación Trece Aguas offers this support in exchange for the promise that the knowledge acquired by the two teachers who benefited from the activity be passed on to other teachers from neighboring communities through workshops to be programmed in coordination with the Department of Education of Alta Verapaz and the Educational Supervision of the Municipality of Senahú.
These types of activities encourage teacher interest in adopting better techniques and practices that allow for a richer way of transmitting knowledge to students.
